East Claremont has a wonderful ethos of being a small, caring, and friendly community centred school, that encourages excellence and strong values from its students.

Buddy system

Each Year 1 student is assigned a Year 7 buddy to help ease the transition to Year 1. The Year 7 buddy helps his/her junior buddy to become familiar with the school environs and timetable and generally 'looks out' for the child, especially in the first few weeks of school. The Year 7 class also joins the Year 1 class on occasions to read stories, and share activities.

Bullying policy

The East Claremont Primary School Classroom - Playground Supervision Policy outlines the rules and guidelines in place to ensure the safety of students at all times. The Policy covers classroom access, use of sporting equipment, recess and lunch teacher supervision, playground rules and behaviour and general school rules.
